Flutter-byes, 2024
Titled Flutter-Byes, this collaborative, site-specific project plays on the word “butterfly” to reflect both the visual motif and the fleeting, transitional nature of life in an international community. Just as butterflies move through the world in bursts of color and motion, so too do the people who make up the school’s ever-shifting population. Students transformed a plain wall into a vibrant installation that celebrates individuality, connection, and the beauty of impermanence. Each butterfly was hand-stamped using carved linoleum blocks and watercolor-treated paper, ensuring that no two were alike. This installation is a reflection of how a community can come together to shape something meaningful, piece by piece.

Collaborative Tapestries, 2023
The Collaborative Tapestry Project was inspired by Ghanaian artist El Anatsui, known for his large-scale works made from repurposed materials. In our LCS version, community members decorated popsicle sticks and cardboard with vibrant oil pastel patterns. These pieces were then assembled with hot glue into intricate, mosaic-like tapestries, reflecting both individual creativity and collective effort.
