The Story of Syrenka
My childhood was filled with outdoor adventures, animals, and an imagination shaped by nature and storytelling. Plants and critters, both tame and wild, continue to hold symbolic meaning in my work, while the flora and fauna of the many places I have called home influence my imagery and evolving visual language.
As a little girl, I was always drawn to mermaids. When I later moved to Warsaw, Poland, I had no idea that a mermaid was the city’s emblem. Learning the story of Syrenka, Warsaw’s strong, sword-bearing protector, felt strangely fated. Her blend of mythology, resilience, and symbolism resonated deeply with me, and Studio Syrenka was born from that connection.
